“The difference is in the detail”. Created in 2015, In-House Style quickly established itself to become Christchurch’s premier boutique property styling service, known for its fresh and inspired approach to styling. Founder and Creative Director Rebeka, has always had a deep love and passion for Interiors, which came to life while she was living in Hong Kong and working for an Interior Design Studio. Fast forward a few years and life lead her back to her hometown of Christchurch, where she worked in a well-known Designer Homeware store. After seeing a gap in the market for property styling which was timeless, fresh and on trend, In-House Style was born.
How do you create that emotional attachment when staging a property & how important is it?

Creating a strong emotional attachment for all potential buyers is at the core of what we do. We understand that the way a property makes someone feel, is such an important part of the process. We take great pride in our attention to detail & know that warm effortless styling is a winner when staging a home for sale. We also look at the big picture, the location & the potential buyers. How they may live in the property & their lifestyle.

What is your favourite piece of furniture/decor right now and why?

There are so many Hawthorne decor pieces that I love (& religiously use), but I can’t go past the Parq Collection. It’s such a versatile range that I use in almost every home that we style. From the coffee table to the consoles & side stools, it’s the perfect mix of modern/rustic.

Best styling tip?

We’ve always said “The difference is in the detail” and this is how we approach every styling project. You will often find me in the garden or on the side of the road collecting branches, greenery - you name it. We use natural foliage in every home. It’s seasonal, sculptural & so interesting to look at!

Trends come and go, are there any you see sticking around?

At present, I’ve had my eye on the Hawthorne modular couch. It’s a gorgeous low back piece that promises to fit easily into both small and medium sized rooms. Plush and comfortable, while being light in design and colour, this couch would definitely be my top pick for a staging or room revamp.

Trends come and go, are there any which excite you right now?

It’s easy to get caught up in the latest interior trends, but I find that sticking to what you love, staying true to your personal style & using pieces that bring you the most joy - is the best recipe for a beautiful home. At In-House Style we lean towards modern classics and natural materials. If we follow any trends, we will use them in accessories or soft furnishings- things that are easy to swap out.

Next thing you’d love to do (in life/with the business)?

For me, as a working mum, it’s all about balance! I’m so fortunate to have a business that allows this for my wee family. In-House Style has quite a few exciting things that I’m (slowly) ticking off the list. We are about to launch our refreshed branding, website & logo. I’m also expanding our services, offering sourcing for private clients & developers which is something I really enjoy!
And… a long time coming but we are looking at retailing a collection of our favourite pieces so people can have access to the In-House Style look.
