The backstory of our Adonis Rug Collection is just as beautiful as the products themselves.
Turkish inspired, with a deliberate distressed look and stunning tonal fading, our Adonis Rug Collection is the proud product of an entirely family owned and operated business based in India.
Using cotton grown on their family farm in Northern India, each Adonis rug with its unique vintage look has been individually hand-finished in their manufacturing facility near Panipat, North of Delhi.
Members of non-profit organisations Care & Fair and SEDEX, the Surana family business is motivated by quality, innovation and responsibility. Priding themselves on acting with integrity they believe in “doing the right thing, even if it’s hard” and work with local agencies to fight illegal child labour, improve living conditions and ensure the children of their employees have access to education.
Combining market knowledge with their in-dept understanding of the production process; from yarn spinning to weaving and finishing, the dedicated team of local artisans employed by the Surana family are able to create for Hawthorne Collections a unique range of vintage Turkish and Oriental inspired rugs.
With their rich experience in textile production, the Surana family are passionate about their product and continue to ensure that each and every rug is carefully finished by hand so they have a continued connection with their product.
