WANAKA INTERIORS | JANINE FITCHEW
Impressive, luxury accommodation, set on the banks of the Clutha River with views of snow-capped mountains. and brimming with warmth and character.
Winner of three Mid and South Canterbury Registered Master Builders 2019 awards including the Resene New Home over $2 million category Gold Award and a Craftsmanship Award, the pioneer style River Ridge was handcrafted in Canada before being shipped to New Zealand.
The interior design completed by Wanaka Interiors won the Latitude Media Award. The judges said the interior has done justice to the home's distinct and unique construction and overall aesthetic.
"The interior design, including the colour palette, furnishing, use of materials, and finishing’s, develops a synergy between the different spaces in the home. Everything has been carefully and thoughtfully choreographed, creating a style that is befitting for this very unique home."
To both complement and contrast with the refined timber aesthetic, Janine Fitchew from Wanaka Interiors used a stunning combination of contemporary and industrial style pieces to bring together a cohesive look.
Our large Antler Chandelier (in natural finish) was chosen, along with our contemporary leather armchairs and ottoman in tan to create a grand yet cosy entertaining space, tied together with key pieces like our natural fur throws, hide cushions and rugs as well as iron vases and pheasant feathers.
In the bedrooms our Printmaker Side Tables, and black steel Bank Bedside Tables were chosen, to add texture and off-set the rich timber tones, while our Cowhide covered Vaasa Barstools were utilised in the Billiards room, and our Lofton gold top coffee table and Princeton Sofa in the mezzanine area.
